"SHADOW DANCE"
The beauty of natural forms and soft lines. Ideal for those who appreciate minimalism and seek a way to bring a touch of harmony and tranquility to their interior.
Conceptual narrative:

"Shadow Dance" is an exquisite high-relief circular sculpture (tondo), conceived as a profoundly tactile exploration of fluid movement, structural asymmetry, and cosmic duality. Completely freed from rigid geometric constraints, the artwork features a subtly undulating, biomorphic circular frame. The composition displays a luminous, off-center configuration, where a dense, deep, hypnotic vortex on the right seamlessly transitions into, and animates, a sequence of wide vertical ridges on the left. It beautifully conveys the illusion of liquid volcanic onyx moving in the darkness, the invisible choreography of wind currents, or a dynamic astronomical eclipse. Using a rigorous monochrome palette of uncompromising matte black, the sculpture materializes an ever-changing spectacle of pure form. This sophisticated, striking decorative element brings an atmosphere of enigmatic Brutalist luxury, calm gravity, and sophisticated dark minimalism to upscale contemporary spaces.

Visual and Sculptural Impact:

This piece boasts an impressive overall thickness of 7 cm (2.8 in) with multi-layered hand-cut incisions and ridges ranging from 2 to 3 cm (0.8 to 1.2 in) deep [Artsper]. The organic, round silhouette softens the strict, linear boundaries typical of contemporary interiors. The light-absorbing, ultra-matte black finish allows the surface to actively interact with the surrounding light; instead of harsh reflections, smooth, fluid indentations create exceptionally soft, velvety gradients of deep shadows that dynamically change their presence and depth as the viewer moves through the room throughout the day.

Technique and Craftsmanship:

Meticulously crafted by hand through an intensive, highly disciplined, multi-week sculpting process. The custom-made round plywood base guarantees absolute structural strength under a 5 kg weight, preventing any deformation over time. The complex biomorphic topography is achieved using high-quality polymer compounds, followed by precise hand carving and hand finishing to create each individual seamless ridge, offset vein, and off-center spiral core. The piece is then coated with high-strength cement and structural gypsum mixtures, painted with deep black water-soluble pigments, and finished with a high-quality water-soluble protective matte varnish for absolute durability and UV resistance.
Handcrafted high-relief sculpture made from mixed materials (plywood, polymers, plaster, cement, water-based acrylic paints, and varnish)

  • Frame: Unframed. Sculptural, biomorphic white borders flow organically, creating a seamless, frameless architectural integration with the wall.

  • Installation: Ready to hang. Equipped with industrial metal hanging brackets, rigorously tested to withstand up to 40 kg (88 lbs), ensuring maximum structural security and perfectly aligned installation.

  • Authenticity: Signed by the artist on the reverse. Includes a signed certificate of authenticity.
