about the infinity and harmony of the flow of life
"THE BIRTH OF THE SUN"
This bas-relief embodies the concept of constant movement and balance. A black background serves as a backdrop for gold elements, imitating streams of water, coated with epoxy resin, which adds depth and luster to the surface. Visually reminiscent of a whirlpool or a flow of energy, it invites the viewer to slow down and reflect on the infinity and harmony of life's currents. The work symbolizes the energy of nature, constant movement, and the inner harmony hidden behind external stability.
Conceptual narrative:

"Birth of the Sun" is a monumental high-relief circular sculpture (tondo) with a dramatic central opening that intellectualizes cosmic creation, radiant energy, and new beginnings. The compositions radiate from a perfect central void, mimicking a solar eclipse, a shifting stellar singularity, or a volcanic crater erupting with molten light. The juxtaposition of the expansive, smooth golden crown above and the aggressive, textured black rays radiating outward creates a powerful energetic tension. This imposing avant-garde work of art serves as a radiant ritual center, bringing an atmosphere of supreme dramatic opulence, architectural mysticism, and refined contemporary elegance to premium contemporary interiors.

Visual and Sculptural Impact:

The artwork boasts a substantial overall thickness of 7 cm (2.8 in) with multi-layered incisions ranging from 2 to 3 cm (0.8 to 1.2 in) in depth. The central opening creates a captivating interplay of depth, allowing the color of the wall behind it to become an integral part of the artwork. The main tectonic beams are finished in an ultra-matte, light-absorbing black, casting heavy, architectural shadows. In a brilliant contrast, the sunburst cracks and the upper portion of the ridge are hand-painted with high-quality gold leaf (tale) and selectively sealed with a glossy, odorless, hypoallergenic resin. This creates an intense "wet look" effect, giving the golden veins a fluid, glassy depth that dynamically captures and reflects ambient light as the viewer moves through the room.

Technique and Craftsmanship:

Meticulously handcrafted through an intensive, highly skilled, multi-week sculpting process. The plywood base is custom-made. The sculpture features an internal, point-reinforced structure that guarantees absolute structural strength under a 10 kg weight and is specifically designed to distribute the load around a central cavity. The complex radial relief is created using high-quality polymer compounds, followed by hand carving and hand finishing to create rough, organic ridges and deep valleys. The piece is then coated with high-strength cement and structural plaster mixtures, painted with deep black water-soluble pigments, gold-plated, and selectively coated with museum resin and matte varnish for an archival, UV-protected finish.

Handcrafted high-relief sculpture made of mixed materials (plywood, polymers, plaster, cement, gold leaf, selective hypoallergenic resin, water-based acrylic paints)

  • Frame: Unframed. The sculptural, biomorphic black and gold edges and central portal flow organically into each other, creating a seamless, borderless integration with the wall.

  • Installation: Ready to hang. Equipped with an industrial metal suspension system tested to withstand loads up to 40 kg (88 lbs), ensuring maximum structural security and perfectly level mounting.

  • Authenticity: Signed by the artist on the reverse. Includes a signed certificate of authenticity.
