The segments, like islands in a gentle sea, exist independently, yet breathe with a single breath. There is no destruction here, only transformation: parts are born from the one, and each part preserves the memory of wholeness.

Conceptual narrative:
"Time on the Surface" is a magnificent high-relief circular sculpture (tondo) that serves as a visual and tactile archive of the passage of time. The composition elegantly combines fluid, aerodynamic curves with deeply textured, cratered cells that mimic the organic erosion of stone by wind, fossilized plant elements, or the soft relief of ancient riverbeds. Completely eschewing color in favor of a pristine, pure matte white, the artwork transforms into a silent monolith that captures and materializes the movement of a clock. This meditative work of art brings an atmosphere of pure architectural serenity, wabi-sabi luxury, and refined contemporary elegance to upscale contemporary spaces.
Visual and Sculptural Impact:
The artwork boasts a substantial overall thickness of 7 cm (2.8 in), with multi-layered relief carvings ranging in depth from 2 to 3 cm (0.8 to 1.2 in). Its circular shape softens the surrounding architecture, while its immaculate white finish allows the entire aesthetic to rely solely on the natural choreography of light and shadow. The stark contrast between the velvety-smooth relief lines and the deeply grained, mineral-like recesses creates an intricate tactile rhythm that changes dramatically depending on the angle of light throughout the day.

Meticulously crafted by hand through a complex, multi-week sculpting process. The base is a specially designed circular plywood board. The sculpture features an internal, dotted, reinforced structure that easily distributes a 10 kg weight without the risk of warping over time. The smooth, organic relief is created using high-quality polymer compounds, followed by precise hand carving and texturing to achieve distinct, large cells and smooth veining. The piece is then coated with high-strength cement and structural plaster, textured, and painted with matte white water-based pigments. Finished with a high-quality protective water-based acrylic varnish for absolute durability and UV resistance.
