THE symbol of forgotten civilizations and their hidden messages
"TRACE OF ORIGIN"
The form suggests lunar or solar symbolism, reminiscent of an ancient amulet or altar. The surface is artificially aged, giving the piece the appearance of a shattered artifact that has survived the ages. At the center are raised lines, like encrypted messages, carrying memories of rare knowledge and secret cults. This work invites us to reflect on the nature of time, oblivion, and what lies behind vanished civilizations, leaving behind obediences—the whisper of the wind in the stone walls of bygone eras.
Conceptual narrative:

"Trace of Origin" is a monumental wall sculpture in the form of an open tondo, a profound visual reflection on cosmological origins, historical memory, and the passage of time. A geometric yet organically fragmented crescent moon silhouette opens from above, creating a dramatic visual portal that directly interacts with the surrounding architectural space. The lower half is adorned with an aggressive, hand-carved network of radial ridges, mimicking tectonic folds, ancient mountain ranges, or deep canyons carved by erosion. This imposing avant-garde work of art brings an atmosphere of raw, brutalist luxury, heavy geological mysticism, and refined drama to premium contemporary interiors.

Visual and Sculptural Impact:

The artwork boasts a remarkable overall thickness of 7 cm (2.8 in), with multi-layered incisions and reliefs ranging from 2 to 3 cm (0.8 to 1.2 in) in depth. The top crown is hand-gilded with high-quality silver leaf (tale), painstakingly applied in multiple overlapping layers. This specialized multi-layer gilding technique produces a highly refined, aged, and distressed appearance, mimicking the patina of oxidized ancient metal or weathered lunar rock. The entire panel is finished with water-soluble pigments in deep charcoal and gray, coated with protective varnishes that allow the deep crevices to capture dark architectural shadows, while the raised silver textures beautifully reflect the ambient light throughout the day.

Technique and Craftsmanship:

Meticulously crafted by hand through an intensive, highly disciplined, multi-week sculpting process. The sculpture is constructed from a sturdy, round plywood board. It features an internal, point-reinforced structure, guaranteeing absolute structural strength while weighing 7 kg. The structure is specifically designed to safely distribute the load around the open central cutout and the pointed upper ends of the crescent. The complex relief is achieved using high-quality polymer compounds, followed by precise hand carving and texturing to create each individual canyon and rough mineral crack. The piece is then coated with high-strength cement and structural plaster mixtures, painted, distressed with layers of silver foil, and fully sealed for maximum durability and absolute UV resistance.
