The study of internal struggle and harmony
"WHIRLPOOL OF INNER SILENCE"
This bas-relief explores the concept of inner struggle and harmony, transforming emotional experiences into visual symmetry and dynamism. Organic forms, like vortexes of thought and emotion, flow into one another, reminding us that our inner world is a constant flux and reboot. The abstract execution emphasizes the universality and depth of human experience, inviting the viewer to reflect on inner silence through the chaos of forms and lines.
Conceptual narrative:

"Vortex of Inner Silence" is a monumental, high-relief circular sculpture (tondo), conceived as a visual anchor for meditation and psychological grounding. The composition is distinguished by a masterful arrangement of undulating, flowing ridges that curl inward, creating multiple soft focal points on the canvas. It beautifully mimics ripples on dark water, the elegant growth rings of ancient wood, or the smooth, windswept desert landscapes at sunset. Using a stark, monochrome palette of deep obsidian black, the sculpture absorbs all external noise, transforming into a quiet vortex that soothes the surrounding environment. This exquisite work of art brings an atmosphere of profound tranquility, minimalist luxury, and organic Brutalism to upscale contemporary spaces.

Visual and Sculptural Impact:

The artwork has a substantial overall thickness of 7 cm (2.8 in), with multi-layered incisions ranging from 2 to 3 cm (0.8 to 1.2 in) deep. Its circular shape softens the linear boundaries of contemporary architecture, while its ultra-matte black finish allows the artwork to interact solely with light. Rather than casting harsh, defined shadows, the smooth, organic folds create soft, velvety gradients of darkness that shift imperceptibly throughout the day, creating the illusion of fluid, living movement on the wall.

Technique and Craftsmanship:

Meticulously handcrafted through an intensive, multi-week sculpting process. Created on a durable, round plywood board, the sculpture is internally dotted to ensure full structural strength under a weight of 10 kg. The complex, fluid topography is created using high-quality polymer compounds, followed by precise, continuous hand carving and hand finishing to achieve seamless, smooth ridges. The piece is then coated with high-strength cement and structural plaster mixtures, painted with deep, matte black water-based pigments, and finished with a high-quality protective water-based acrylic varnish for absolute durability and UV resistance.
Hand-carved, high-relief mixed-material sculpture (plywood, polymers, plaster, cement, water-based acrylic paints, and varnish)
